Our Story
The Golden Bean is a locally owned drive-thru coffee stop on Napier Street, Bendigo, right by Lake Weeroona. We pour locally roasted coffee, iced drinks, smoothies and juices, with a friendly hello at the window every time.

How The Golden Bean started
The Golden Bean was dreamt up by Ronnie Kopp, who opened our first drive-thru in Kangaroo Flat back in 2011. The idea was simple: really good coffee, served quickly and with a smile, without you having to leave the car.
Our second store, on Napier Street by Lake Weeroona, followed. Over the years both windows became part of Bendigo's morning routine, with loyal regulars (and plenty of their dogs) stopping by every day.
In March 2022 we handed our Kangaroo Flat store over to another great local business, Bridgewater Bakehouse, and put all our energy into Napier Street. Around the same time, one of Ronnie's final ventures came to life: Dancing Goats Coffee Roasters, who now roast the beans we pour.
Ronnie's guidance and hard work are still behind everything we do, from the way we look after our crew to the coffee in your cup.
Our Community
